DANCER John Byrnes was the third Strictly Come Dancing star to host AAIR's Festival of Dance at The Point in Eastleigh.

John, who partnered celebrity Claire Sweeney in the first series of Strictly Come Dancing, was just one of the many highlights of the evening.

There were ten performances from dance groups across the south, including everything from lindy hop and tap to the Argentine tango, oriental and Irish.

A new twist to the evening saw Hampshire girl band Afrodisiac taking to the stage to show the audience how they impressed the judges during the current series of TV's X Factor with their singing skills.

Wave 105 Radio Presenter and good sport John Clayton also trod the boards after just a few hours of ballroom dance lessons.
