Independence of the Seas competition
THE Southern Daily Echo has teamed up with Royal Caribbean International to celebrate the launch of the new Independence of the Seas - the world's largest and most wow-factor packed cruise ship arriving in the UK at the end of April.
Children of Southampton could be in with a chance of being one of the first people ever to set foot onboard the spanking new ship when she premieres in Southampton. Plus, the lucky winners will get the chance to enjoy an exclusive Scouting For Girls concert onboard, courtesy of Virgin Radio.
This is a once-in-a-lifetime, money-can't-buy prize with no tickets available to buy for the launch celebrations.
This exclusive launch event will take place in Southampton on Saturday, April 26, several days before any other holidaymakers will join the ship for her first paid-for cruise.
We are looking for budding artists aged between three and 16 to draw a picture of what they would most like to find on board the world's largest cruise ship.
Simply draw an A4 colour picture and send it to us for your chance to win. Please make sure your art masterpiece is clearly marked on the reverse with your name, address, telephone number and your age.
The Southern Daily Echo has places for 20 lucky winners plus one parent/guardian aged over 21 to join Royal Caribbean International and enjoy the live concert on board the new Independence of the Seas when she arrives in Southampton.
We will be looking for five winners in each of four age categories: 3 to 5 years, 6 to 9 years, 10 to 12 years and 13 to 16 years.
The lucky winners' pictures will appear in the Southern Daily Echo and in the Southampton cruise terminal while the ship is docked there during the summer months.
The prize includes one night on board Independence of the Seas in a stateroom sleeping two people on Saturday, April 26, all meals and entertainment, VIP access to all the launch celebration events and the chance to enjoy all of the ship's facilities.
Go ice skating, rock climbing and even surfing on the high seas all onboard this action-packed wow-factor ship.
Independence of the Seas also boasts a theatre bigger than most you will find in London's West End, a waterpark exclusively for kids, and a shopping street running through the centre of the ship featuring restaurants, shops, bars and entertainment venues.
And that isn't including all the special events to celebrate the launch of the new ship and her debut in the UK.
Following the launch events, Independence of the Seas will then begin her first ever season cruising in Europe and the Mediterranean.
Taking in shopping hot spots of Barcelona, Cannes and Rome, the sunshine escapes of Gran Canaria, Malaga and Lisbon, and the fun of Cork, Florence and Seville, Independence of the Seas is the most exciting summer holiday option ever to be available from the UK.
