Night at the BAFTAS for Tommy Jessop

HAMPSHIRE actor Tommy Jessop will be walking down the red carpet tomorrow at the BAFTAS.
The 23-year-old was one of the stars of BBC TV film Coming Down The Mountain, which has been nominated for an award.
The programme, which was aired in September, has been nominated for best Single Drama.
It is up against Boy A, The Mark of Cain and the Trial of Tony Blair.
Coming Down the Mountain is told from the viewpoint of 16-year-old David (Skins star Nicholas Hoult) who is frustrated at the way his family's life revolves around his older brother Ben, played by Tommy, who has Down's Syndrome.
David feels that Ben is ruining his life and decides to kill him.
The film tackles some of the difficult issues that people with Down's Syndrome and their families can face, especially the problem of the abilities and mental capacity of those with Down's Syndrome being underestimated, even by those close to them.
Tommy told the Echo that he is looking forward to getting dressed up in his tuxedo and going to the ceremony tomorrow.
"I'm looking forward to chatting to celebrities like Sir Alan Sugar and the casts of EastEnders, Emmerdale, Coronation Street and Hollyoaks," he said.
Tommy will be going to the ceremony with his mother, Jane.
Jane is chairperson of Winchester Mencap Society and set up Blue Apple Theatre, which caters for those with and without learning disabilities.
Tommy began acting with the group when he was 18 and has had a number of professional roles since then.
Coming Down The Mountain has been his most high-profile role to date and with the possibility of it winning a BAFTA, Tommy's acting career looks set to go from strength to strength.
"If we win I'll be pretty excited," he said.
