Pick Southampton’s Favourite Book
A COMPETITION to find Southampton children's favourite book is being launched tomorrow.
The search for Southampton's Favourite Book to Share Award 2008 is being launched at The Marlands from 11am until 4pm.
Competitions, activities and reading will be on offer at the launch of the competition that invites parents, carers and pre-school children to read and share six books and then vote for their favourite.
Last years winner Hello Dudley, by Sam Lloyd, won 3,500 votes from parents and children in the city.
This year's shortlist has been selected by library and family learning staff. They have selected a range of titles that will appeal to children under five years old.
If you would like to take part you can pick up copies of the books at Southampton city libraries, nurseries, pre-schools and parent and toddler groups. You can vote for your favourite between April-July.
The winner of the award will be announced in September and the award ceremony will take place in October as part of Family Learning Week.
