Talent on camera
I’m doing it for my dad
IT was three months ago that Carley Read's father passed away after having a heart attack at the age of 44.
So the 21-year-old decided to pay tribute to her father by singing a song in his memory for the Daily Echo's Hampshire's Top Talent search.
Carley, a fine art student at Winchester School of Art, is a big fan of rock legends Queen and chose to sing their hit No One But You (Only the Good Die Young) in memory of her dad, Nick.
The talented youngster wants to have a career in the music industry and cites her dad as her biggest influence in achieving this goal.
Having already performed in numerous shows and concerts around Southampton, Carley is determined to make the big time one day.
Carley, of Lukin Drive, Nursling, said: "He always inspired me into music.
"If it were my birthday or Christmas time he would buy me a CD or something musical to encourage me.
So singing this song in his memory is something that he would love and will keep his memory alive.
" Carley did it - so why don't you enter our Hampshire's Top Talent search? Whatever your talent is, we are asking you to send us your videos showcasing what you have that sets you apart from the crowd.
