Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 (360)

Game Name: Rainbow Six: Vegas 2

Platform: Xbox 360

Publisher: Ubisoft

Rating: 16+ (PEGI)

Genre: First Person Shooter

Team Rainbow are back in Vegas with another adventure of tactical counter-terrorism that runs parallel to the events of Rainbow Six: Vegas. Playing as Bishop, you must command your 3-man squad using military technology and procedures in an effort to neutralize the terrorist threat led by Alvarez Cabrero.

Unlike many games in which you command a team of operatives, single player mode is an absolute joy. This is largely because your AI teammates are actually very good and will help you out like you would hope. Unfortunately the civilians are a lot dumber and can often cause frustration through their distinct inability to get out of the line of fire.

Vegas 2 is one of the very few games that has functionality for the Xbox Live Vision Camera and for that earn extra Kudos. The game just needs to take a couple of pictures and then it creates a face in the likeness of the player. The face that the game produced of me wasn't particularly accurate and looked a bit shiny like I had been attacked with a floor buffer, but it's a fun quirky feature all the same.

The graphics are not as colorful or as glitzy as in the original Vegas but the incredible detail makes Vegas 2 just as beautiful cosmetically. Part of the reason that the game is not as colourful is because the majority of the game is sent in warehouses and underground car parks. To be honest, this gives the game a much grittier feel anyway.

Xbox Live is where Vegas 2 really comes alive with plenty of co-op and multiplayer modes to keep gamers gripped. In all multiplayer and co-op modes, good communication between squad members is essential so make sure that you've got your Xbox Live Headset handy.

I know that is incredibly cheesy and cliché, but I have to say it - Viva Las Vegas!
