ATV Offroad
Fury 4 is in some respects, a very deceptive and misleading name. Not because
the game’s not furious or you don’t drive offroad, but because ATVs
are not the only vehicles on offer. With over 30 bikes, buggies, trucks and
ATVs available, players are spoilt for choice.
As if
players weren’t being treated enough by the vast array of vehicles, there
are also approximately 70 courses packed with crazy jumps and bends that will
test even the best of virtual ATV drivers.
This is the
forth ATV game to hit the PlayStation2 but is the first to offer gamers a
career mode. The general gist of it is no different to most racing game
careers, you’re a rookie race driver looking at working your way to the
top through a whole host of different races.
The great
graphics throughout really help to bring the various courses alive and the
animation of both your characters and the vehicles are top notch.
There is
now a track editor for players to make there own courses and if you get the
upcoming PSP title, ATV Offroad Fury Pro, you can even transfer your custom built courses to play on your PSP.
Online
functionality is available with races, a friends list, leaderboards and more.
Racing against real life people is often favorable to racing against the
annoying and often over vicious AI.
