Char Bar, Port Solent
After a morning's shopping we were more than ready for some lunch, and the unmistakable aroma of BBQ food wafting through the air made our minds up to go to the Char Bar.
Having been there before, we knew what to expect and knew we're weren't going to be dissapointed.
We decided that in order for us to get the best experience possible, we would go for the platter for two to share, which consisted of a lovely big juicy burger, rump steak, cajun chicken breast, cumberland sausage and some onion rings and mushrooms, oh and some vegetable skewers too!
After only a couple of minutes our drinks were served and a few moments later our food was being brought to our table.
Our waiter explained the times needed for each item to cook properly and left us to enjoy the fantastic smells eminating from the grill.
With precision timing the waiter brought out the rest of our food - to accompany the dishes we had chips and salad. Soon enough the meat dishes were cooked to perfection. And it was heads down as we greedily tucked in. There was so much great food to try, I wasn't sure what to go for first! After feasting ourselves on a lovely lunch we sat back with our drinks and watched other people enjoying the same experience that we had just had. It was a really great dining experience, good atmosphere, great service, and something a bit different to try.
All together our bill came to a very reasonable price of £32 which included the main course, a side order and two rounds of drinks.

have been to the char bar a number of times mainly on my childrens birthdays (as they like to cook their own food!) however as an adult I would not choose to eat there, the food is nasty you may as well go to mcdonalds!

[italic]italic[/italic] [bold]bold[/bold] [quote]quote[/quote] I have been to the charbar several times and i can honestly say i have never been disapointed with neither the service or the quality of the food. I think its a good idea being able to cook your own meat as only you really know how you like it to be done. I will definatly be returning in the near future.
