Hey Aaron. What are you up to today? "We're in Piccolino in Liverpool, we've just had a pizza. It's rock 'n' roll mate! They're good to us, I ordered off-menu and they did a Bolognese pizza for me. It was great.

What else are you doing with your day off? (Wednesday) "Well, we're Rangers fans for the day! It's so mental here, the place is absolutely full of about 50,000 of them! We had a gig in Glasgow last night and were driving down the motorway at 3am and it was amazing. We were getting so many beeps, I think they thought we were the team bus! We're going to watch the game tonight - we won't have a choice as it's on everywhere. We're painting ourselves blue!"

(I remind Aaron of Portsmouth's appearance in the FA Cup this weekend) "Oh, you're right. We'd better not do that, we don't want to be blue this weekend!"

How do you feel about the great reaction to Everything's the Rush (Delays' latest album)? "We believe in what we've done and we couldn't be more proud or happy, but we're just overwhelmed. The reviews have been incredible. It's bizarre. It is a good one though!"

You're playing the Guildhall this weekend. How much do the home town gigs mean to you? "Oh, they're brilliant, we're looking forward to it. We played the Guildhall two Christmases ago and it is such a brilliant memory for us. We purposely made it a Saturday night so there's no excuse not to go mental. It's going to be a special one for us. We've been getting a great response and lots of singing along to the new album. We did the first gig of the tour in Manchester and didn't realise until afterwards that we had played every song from the new album except one. But there will probably be eight or nine new songs and a special set for Southampton. We can't wait to see all our friends there."

How do you feel about being booked for Isle of Wight Festival for the third time? "Isle of Wight is amazing, it always shines there! That festival's great, it's definitely one of my favourites. I went last year as a punter and loved it. Everyone is just there to have a really good time, it's like a weekend wonderland."

Who are you most looking forward to seeing at Isle of Wight? "I really want to see Sex Pistols. I hope we can get across in time. I think they will be incredible."

Do you have a busy summer of festivals? "Yeah, we're going to do Blissfields in Winchester now. We've got V, T in the Park, Oxygen, Wireless, Zoo 8, Middlesbrough Live, there's loads.

Is your set very different for festivals? "Yeah, we just rock it up really. It's a 45-minute party!"

What other plans do you have for the rest of the year? "We're doing Mexico and Europe again. We're bigger in Mexico than anywhere else on the planet. We played this bullfighting arena and 7,000 people turned up to see us. Unbelieveable!"
