 |
| Guillemots |
RE.M. have added
Editors and
Guillemots to the lineup
for their appearance
at Hampshire's
Rose Bowl in August.
The American rockers, who
are number one this week
with their electrifying new
album Accelerate, have added
two of their favourite bands
as support for their four
outdoor summer stadium
shows.
R.E.M. are made up of
vocalist Michael Stipe,
Peter Buck on guitar
and bass guitarist
Mike Mills.
Following
years of
underground
success, R.E.M.
entered the
mainstream in 1987 with their
first hit The One I Love.
They were soon viewed as a
pioneer of the genre
after releasing their
two most
commercially
successful
albums, Out of
Time and
Automatic for
the People.
Last year
they received
the ultimate
accolade - R.E.M.
were inducted into the
Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
British indie rockers Editors
are made up of Tom Smith,
Chris Urbanowicz, Russell
Leetch and Ed Lay.
They have been compared to U2 and Joy Division and
have released two albums,
selling over 1.5 million copies
between them worldwide.
Guillemots are a Brit Awardnominated
indie rock band
formed in 2004 by Fyfe
Dangerfield.
