"CAN we get a rewind because he was amazing!"

That was the buzz from crowds pouring out of Southampton Guildhall on Saturday after witnessing one of the city's own at his best.

R'n'B star Craig David returned to his roots - and it was a homecoming to be proud of.

Kicking off to a sell-out crowd with smash hit Hot Stuff, C r a i g , exploded on to the stage l o o k i n g slicker than ever in his white suit and dark shades.

Within seconds the place was jumping as Craig and his band injected the Guildhall with attitude.

Craig, pictured at a previous show, then delved into his back catalogue to keep the energetic vibe with his earlier hits What's Your Flava? and 7 Days.

That set the mood for the rest of night, with fans hearing tracks from his latest album Trust Me for the first time live.

With his beaming smile the ex-Bellemoor School pupil told the crowd how happy he was to be back home and on the stage where he saw his first ever gig.

Craig finished his show with an encore of Fill Me In.

Hayley Craddock, 21, from Sholing, said: "He was amazing live, even better than Kanye West.

I went to see Craig with my cousins and Aunty. It was great. He was Fab and it was nice to see him back in his hometown! The performance was the best i've seen!
