Beck
POST modern pop star Beck comes to Southampton Guildhall this week.
The American multi-instrumentalist/singer/songwriter will be bringing his collage of musical styles and sometimes ironic lyrics to music fans on Tuesday.
The Grammy-nominated artist, born Bek David Campbell, is known for such hits as Devil's Haircut, Loser and The New Pollution.
He is sure to be playing tracks from his new album, Modern Guilt, in Southampton next week and with another eight albums under his belt he has plenty of other material to choose from.
His music continues to be innovative and he is considered by many to be one of the great America singer/songwriters of today.
He has a care-free, low-fi sound which combines elements of a number of musical genres.
He first hit the music scene in 1988 and, in the UK, was particularly successful in the mid-90s, although he remains popular today.
n Tickets: £32.50. Box office: 023 8063 2601.
