WITH its comfy seating, a dance floor and a private VIP lounge bar, the Brass Monkey has something to offer for punters of all age groups.

The pub, which sits in the middle of Fareham town centre, is a relaxed and chilled traditional pub by day, but by night it transforms into a bar where the sofas are replaced with a dance floor.

This daily metamorphosis was launched a few months ago by manager Janice Yeates in a bid to bring a new vibe to the pub, which has stood in West Street as the Brass Monkey for five years.

She has also introduced the new Brass Lounge Bar, a private VIP room upstairs, which can be hired out for private functions away from the main bar.

So far these additions, along with live music at weekends, have proved a great success and Janice is pleased that her pub is attracting customers of all ages while remaining popular with regulars.

She said: "During the day we are pretty much a traditional pub but in the evenings and at weekends we become more of a bar, with live music and a dance floor.

"I took the decision to remove the three pool tables we had and replace them with a dance floor so we could attract the younger customers and it has worked really well.

"We have also just opened a new Brass Lounge Bar upstairs which can be hired out for private functions or used by families who would like to have a meal away from the main bar and so far the response has been great.

We just want to continue being one of the best pubs and bars in Fareham and we will keep improving to give our competitors something to aim for."
