Unreal Tournament III (PS3)
Title: Unreal Tournament III
Platform: PlayStation3
Genre: First Person Shooter
Publisher: Midway
Classification: 18+ (PEGI)
It’s been a long time coming, not
only because this is the first Unreal to hit seventh generation consoles, but
because Unreal Tournament came out last year on PC and has had console owners
longing for this release.
When you first get behind the gun of Unreal
Tournament 3, it is difficult not to be amazed by the sheer speed of it. The
game is like a cheetah on steroids.
There are two features within Unreal
Tournament 3 that really stand out and make this a game worth buying. Firstly a
keyboard and mouse can be used and secondly the game can be ‘modded’ much in the same way as PC games have been
able to for years.
Anybody familiar with the Unreal Tournament
series will realize when playing this game that Epic Games have stuck to the
arena style combat that has always served the series so well. The problem is
that things have moved on since those days and the arena style can lack some
depth.
The game is really well polished both
graphically and audibly and the fast paced gameplay
make Unreal Tournament III one of the finest first person shooters available
for the PlayStation3.
