Curtain Call
The Mennyms
AN airmail letter from Australia threatens to unearth an incredible secret at the University of Southampton's Annex Theatre next week.
From the outside, the Mennyms appear to be like any other family. The inhabitants of Brocklehurst Grove often remark that they are the perfect neighbours: polite and considerate, and with a tendency to keep themselves to themselves.
But appearances can be deceptive. The Mennyms have a secret, which they guarded closely for decades. An unexpected letter from a stranger in Australia sets in motion a chain of events which threaten to reveal this secret, and change the lives of the Mennyms forever!
Written by Lyndsay Barnbrook and based on the award-winning children's novel by Sylvia Waugh, The Mennyms is a musical for the whole family, with a fantastic cast of talented actors, singers and dancers from Southampton University's Showstoppers.
As well as enjoying the show, there will be the opportunity to take part in a charity raffle and other games to raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital in London.
The Mennyms is running from Wednesday, May 7 to Saturday, May 10.
Tickets are available on the door, or can be reserved by emailing themennyms@googlemail.com
