Tribute to Linda Smith

FELLOW professional performers will be paying tribute to Linda Smith, the comedienne, writer and radio broadcaster who died from ovarian cancer in early 2006 - in a brand new stage production which reunites Linda's comic genius with her audiences. The show features special guest, Carol Grimes, a friend and fellow entertainer.

Linda was a regular panellist on BBC Radio 4's The News Quiz, I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue and Just a Minute, as well as on TV shows Have I Got News For You and Mock the Week. Her warmth and humour endeared her to comedy audiences everywhere and to her fellow comedians, including Jeremy Hardy, Andy Hamilton, Ian Hislop, Nicholas Parsons and many more. She was voted Wittiest Person in 2002 by listeners of BBC Radio.

Presented in assocation with The Friends of Linda Smith, the show provides a joyful and fitting tribute to the lady who, above all, thought it important to laugh! The performance is presented at Theatre Royal Winchester tonight in support of Ovarian Cancer Action.

Tickets: 01962 844600 or visit theatre-royal-winchester.co.uk.
