HAMPSHIRE-born actor Colin Firth returns to his roots this weekend, appearing at Theatre Royal Winchester for one night only in support of the Mayor's charities.

Colin will be in conversation with John Smith, giving a unique insight into the man behind some of the best loved roles in recent television history.

His screen success in the 1995 television production of Pride and Prejudice, starring as Mr Darcy opposite Jennifer Ehle's Elizabeth Bennett, and as a modern-day Mr Darcy in Love Actually, have made him one of the UK's best known and most popular actors.

His screen presence and classic British good looks have also endeared him to Hollywood, where he has played the quintessential Englishman in many films, most recently opposite Uma Thurman in The Accidental Husband.

Theatre Royal Winchester is delighted to present this rare opportunity to get to know more about Colin Firth, the man and the actor, before he heads off once again for the bright lights of Hollywood.

Colin Firth appears at Theatre Royal Winchester in From Hollywood to St Cross on Sunday at 8pm.

...and as a modern-day Mr Darcy in Love Actually,...

You might want to change that to Mr. Darcy in Bridget Jones's Diary. Otherwise nice little article about a very interesting man.
